Debra Murphy, Consultant

Debra Murphy's areas of expertise include designing information and training strategies for performance improvement; developing job performance evaluation tools; market trends analysis; competitive products and literature analysis; product positioning; user-interface design; online help and menu systems design, training and information strategies development; and organizational development.

She has more than 20 years of diverse experience as an instructional designer, ergonomic consultant, information analyst and account manager. Deb has been engaged as a training program manager for several major employers in the New England area, including Raytheon Co., Teledyne, John Hancock Mutual Life, EMC and Compaq Computer Corporation.

In 2000, Deb established her own consulting company specializing in sales and management training and information design. Her recent major clients include: Avnet, EMC, John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance, Malden Mills Industries, Dupont Chemical, Information Mapping, Inc., Pitney Bowes, Agilent, Ford Motor Company, and Compaq Computer Corporation.

Deb graduated from Wellesley College in 1981, with a bachelors degree in Cognitive Psychology. She has also undertaken graduate studies at Boston University in Cognitive and Neural systems, specializing in adult information coding and cognitive processing of verbal vs. pictorial information.
